ZnO/?-MnO2 hybrid 1D nanostructure-based sensor for point-of-care monitoring of chlorinated phenol in drinking water

Herein, we have reported a highly selective electrochemical sensing of 2,4-dichlorophenol in water at room conditions. 1D hybrid nanostructure ZnO/?-MnO2 nanowire by combining ZnO nanoparticles and ?-MnO2 was developed using facile ultrasound induced coprecipitation method. The nanostructured material has been characterized detail X-ray diffractometer, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission energy dispersive which confirm successful synthesis the nanostructure. A nano-enabled, label-free sensor is fabricated utilizing synthesized on printed contacts-based working electrodes. prominently showed high sensitivity (0.45 k?/nM/mm2) with an excellent limit detection 2 nM. equivalent Randel circuit designed modeled for understanding evolution transfer kinetics. shelf life analysis device revealed stability reproducibility over 90 days. found to be toward even presence other organic compounds. provides novel, fast, economical approach detect chlorinated phenolic pollutants ambient conditions, beneficial health environmental safety.
